<div>Jan Matthys and Mich Van Den Berghe have been taking photos under the name Studio Edelweiss since 2006. Their work is often theatrical and often consists of staged images.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The photos evoke a world populated by little fantasists, visionary grandfathers, and power-hungry maidens. Fisherman's tales are the common language. Banality and absurdity fight for supremacy.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Telling stories is important for Studio Edelweiss. Ideas are usually found outside the classic subjects of photography. The Brothers Grimm, Caravaggio, Georges Brassens, the Bible and ancient mythology, Frank Zappa, and dirty magazines often form the breeding ground for inspiration, but ultimately, beyond the surface humor, the work is about love and time and the often absurd ways to briefly survive both.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Since 2011, we have also been producing advertising films and/or educational films from start to finish.</div>
